Join us as Ben, Tiago, and Rose cover the inspirations behind Ace Attorney! Sometimes we aren't all on the same page. Sometimes we dislike a piece of media. Sometimes we like it, but we acknowledge it still doesn't cohere. Rarely to we get to pull out the full gallon of pure, concentrated Haterade like we do for Death on the Nile (2022). Hoo boy, this one is rough, and we do our best to tackle a messy movie that stars several uh... shitty people. Branagh tries to make this film epic and give pathos to Poirot that unfortunately doesn't work for any of us. Join us for a romp through this disaster of a movie!

Join us as Ben, Tiago, and Rose cover the inspirations behind Ace Attorney! We're continuing our movie marathon of Poirot adaptations with John Guillermin's 1978 rendition of Death on the Nile, another lavish production with on-location shooting, many extras, and a star-studded cast. This time however, Peter Ustinov takes on the role of Hercule Poirot, and he does a fine job with a slightly different take on the character that nevertheless endears himself to us. We also cover Angela Lansbury's delightfully wacky performance, the cowardly communist, the many death sequences, and other escapades on the boat. We also cover Rose's recent move, Tiago debating which Poirot he likes more, and we also answer a listener question from loooong ago!

We've jumped into the future now with a more recent adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express, from famed actor/director Kenneth Branagh, which promises bombast and glamour, plus an expensive train set! We debate the validity of fight scenes, the changes to the original story, the expansive cast, and Branagh's portrayal of the iconic detective Poirot. Plus we get into our usual side tangents, discover a treasure trove of hidden Apple Podcasts reviews from other countries, and of course: cinnamontography.

When a second body is found inside the coffin of dead art collector Georg Khalkis, all hell breaks loose in a huge cast of characters that all are trying to get at... something! Whether it's a (possible) Leonardo da Vinci painting, the missing will, or just a really big bed that everyone sleeps in, we're gonna do our best to keep track of everything. That's built on top of an earlier murder plot! We dive into The Decagon House Murders, the iconic novel from Yukito Ayatsuji that ushered in the era of shin honkaku mysteries! We debate the possible motives and killers, lounge around with Shimada and Kawaminami as they investigate, and discuss the possibility of our own murder mystery island vacation one day.
